Many women under 50 years old have metabolic disease or nutrient deficiencies that impact energy and cause discomfort.
We routinely check for a range of such deficiencies and treat symptoms with supplements when appropriate.
Screening tests
Vitamin D deficiency is ubiquitous due to our Northern latitude. Those are take a vitamin D supplement had a 40% less chance of dementia in a recent study. Vitamin D deficiency can cause fatigue, joint pains, more and longer infections and contribute to more frequent and severe migraine headaches.
Thyroid deficiency is common, causing fatigue, weight gain and feeling colder than previously.
Iron deficiency is very common, resulting in fatigue and decreased mental stamina.
Magnesium deficiency syndrome is very common due to our vegetables having only 20% of the magnesium they had in 1940. Usually at least 2 of the following 3 symptoms are present: tight muscles, constipation and migraine headaches.
B12 deficiency is common among vegetarians and those with H. pylori infection often apparent as a "sensitive stomach".
Prediabetes and the insulin resistance that precedes prediabetes are tested for.
We do not test or treat female reproductive hormone levels.
